January 2012 Winter Snow and Ice Storm, Covington, WA

During the week of 15 January, 2012 we experienced a snow, ice and freezing rain storm with isolated high winds.  Traffic in the greater Seattle area was impacted severely (our car hasn't been out of the garage in several days).  Damage here (our home) was minimal, we were lucky and experienced only limbs from neighbors trees breaking and landing in our yard.  We were without power for about 14 hours, mostly just an inconvenience, but is nice to have it back as we have no heat without it.

Our plants were weighted down with the snow and ice, as shown in the pictures.  We hope they survive.
